Sunnyside Innovation Laboratories invites participation in the establishment of the Energy Oasis℠ within the Sunnyside Innovation District, in Denver, Colorado.
The goals of the Energy Oasis℠ are to:
- Reduce the use of fossil fuels
- Build/Generate sustainable energy systems
- Advance Climate Technologies by teaming with other companies demonstrating how to bridge the Innovation Gap
- Continue ET Squared® Rent laboratory time to companies to conduct their experiments
- Reduce utility costs in the Sunnyside neighborhood
- Build Urban Farms providing fresh produce – work with food banks
- Enhance the local economy
- Career training programs/day care
- Avoid gentrification
The Energy Oasis℠ will be designed, constructed, and operate within the Sunnyside Innovation District—an urban area with net zero energy import, net zero CO2 emissions, and a surplus of renewable energy. We will achieve this by integrating Climate Technologies when constructing new buildings and infrastructure, retrofitting existing buildings using aggressive energy efficiency measures, reducing energy loads, with the integration of renewable energy resources to meet the remaining energy needs.
The Energy Oasis℠ is the integration of sustainable materials, systems, and technologies required to construct/operate a healthy LIVE/WORK/PLAY environment. At the center is a patented and tested anaerobic digester which processes organic waste into biofuel, the system will be integrated with other sustainable energy systems providing all the buildings energy needs, selling the surplus energy to Xcel. The testing for the Nested Nozzle Mixer system needs to be completed providing the data for water purity.
Sunnyside Innovation Laboratories will expand the multi-decade work of ET Squared® making the planet healthier. ET Squared® will combine its waste conversion technology with all forms of energy generation and efficiency products and services to create the ‘Climate Tech’ templates for commercial, industrial, residential, and mixed-use buildings with urban farms. It is planned to continuously update the templates as innovation becomes available and reliable.
By the year 2050, humans will require four times today’s existing infrastructure. As we build the Sunnyside Innovation District, we will team with everyone who shares our vision and is capable to help building a greener planet.
The Sunnyside Business Alliance has been formed to serve as a common voice of the Sunnyside business community. The Sunnyside Business Alliance will gather information on the needs and wants of Sunnyside’s businesses, support interaction with the City of Denver and support businesses while their buildings and infrastructure are being retrofitted or replaced.
Using the ‘Climate Tech’ templates developed by the Sunnyside Innovation Laboratories, it is planned to launch a series of Block Redevelopment Projects where resources will be focused on specific areas within the Sunnyside neighborhood. One block at a time, buildings and infrastructure will be retrofitted or replaced. The building tenants will be temporarily relocated while demolition and construction are completed with the support of the Sunnyside Business Alliance.
